Welcome to the website of Kingston Maurward Croquet Club.
We are a small, friendly club located in the grounds of Kingston Maurward College, just outside Dorchester in Dorset.
We have one large and one small (half size) lawns which are maintained by the college staff.
We play Golf and Association croquet seven days a week from April until October each year.
For more details, including membership, please click on the menu items above.
We are in the grounds of Kingston Maurward Agricultural College.
Follow signs to the Visitors Centre Car Park, go to reception and ask for The Croquet Lawns.
Please click on the link above for a diagram of directions from A35.
Lawns are open 10:00am - 7:00pm seven days per week except Monday (which is 2:00pm - 7:00pm only) as lawns are maintained Monday am.
Wednesday is Golf Croquet club day and
Thursday is Association Croquet Club day.
On these days there is a good chance of a game if members just turn up at 10:00am or 2:00pm.
Either style of croquet can be played on other days but you may want to contact another member beforehand to be sure to get a game.
Please access the lawns through the Car Park and Visitors Centre of Kingston Maurward Gardens and Animal Park.
There are signs to Kingston Maurward Visitors Centre from the A35 roundabout on the Dorchester Bypass.
Members can bring guests to play at KMCC for a fee of £4 per person per day. The fee includes use of club equipment.
If visitors do not know a member then please contact us with details when you would like to play and we will try to find a member to act as host.
KMCC welcome friendly matches (GC or AC) with other croquet clubs.
Please contact our secretary Alwin Greder for details.
That was it.
The 2018 season has now finished and the lawns have been taken over by Graham and the staff at Kingston Maurward College for end of season work.
This includes, scarifying, aeration, top dressing and filling in some dips. They will also reseed some patches and they assure us that the brown patches will recover over the winter and we'll have green again next year. (Whether that's moss, clover or grass we'll have to wait and see!).
Thanks to all those who helped at the Last Hurrah on Sunday 7th Oct with food and then packing up the clubhouse, equipment hut, and lawns.
