Oct 26th: Wessex Ground Services have completed Quadraplay (aerate, scarify, dethatch, brush) and top dressing.
They will consider spreading fertiliser in the next few weeks but it is late innthe season so maybe better next spring.
First application for a grant has been submitted.
Oct 20 th Groundwork has started during breaks in the weather. Top dressing maybe Tues/Wed week of 21st.
Negotiations continue on the tenure agreement.
Preparations of three grant applications have started.
Following the decision at the EGM on 10th Oct
- negotiations continue to finalise the tenancy agreement
- the contractor has been asked to do the autumn preparation work as quoted. We know it is late in the season to do such work , the heavy equipment could sink into wet ground and reseeding may not take if the weather is too cold. However the site is well drained and the weather is above average for the time of year. We have asked him to inspect the site and commence work if possible - even before the tenancy has been signed.
- the committee are preparing applications for grants from : Dorset County Council Leisure Development Fund, Croquet association Development Committee, and Winterborne Stickland Solar Farm fund.
Winterborne Stickland Sports and Communirty Club
The grounds are to be found on the north edge of the village .

It doesn't have a web site.
The site has two large open areas, one is a football pitch and the other is a small cricket pitch with a tennis court and childrens play area. We will take over one half of the football pitch and build two full size croquet lawns.
There is a large pavilion with toilets and a changing room which will be given over to our club for storage and our exclusive use.
